Lahore: A series of explosions were reported in Pakistan's Lahore on Thursday morning, claimed local reports. The blasts were heard in Lahore a day after the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on multiple terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of Operation Sindoor.
Reports claimed that smoke could also be seen near the Navy War College in Lahore. As per India Today, three explosions were heard in the city.
Several videos from Lahore surfaced online. Some reports even claimed that blasts were heard near Lahore Airport and on the Walton Road. The visuals show people in panic on the streets of Lahore.
So far, there are no reports of any injuries or collateral damage due to these explosions.
In the early hours of Wednesday, India carried out Operation Sindoor targeting nine terror camps, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba's (LeT's) headquarters in Pakistan and PoK. In the strike on Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, JeM chief Masood Azhar's 10 family members and four close aides were killed. Similarly, in Muridke, LeT's headquarters were also destroyed.
India also released details and videos of the precision strikes. Operation Sindoor was launched in retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 people, including a Nepali citizen, were killed. Among the deceased was a local pony ride operator, who lost his life while saving tourists.
After the attack, India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus Waters treaty and a ban on trade with Islamabad.
