Several people were injured—some reportedly suffering burns—during what the FBI immediately described as a "targeted terror attack" at an outdoor mall in Boulder, Colorado, on Sunday. The attack occurred during a gathering organised to raise awareness about Israeli hostages held in Gaza.

U.S. President Donald Trump condemned targeted Colorado terror attack and promised the citizens of America that the such act of violence will be prosecuted,

In a post on Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump said, “Yesterday's horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America. He came in through Biden's ridiculous Open Border Policy, which has hurt our Country so badly. He must go out under 'TRUMP' Policy.”

Overcome with anger and sorrow, Trump continued with a strong message, he said, "Acts of Terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law. This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE and deport illegal, anti-American radicals from our Homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy and the great people of Boulder, Colorado.”

The Colorado attack took place at a popular pedestrian mall in Boulder where demonstrators with a volunteer group called Run For Their Lives had gathered to raise visibility for the hostages who remain in Gaza as a war between Israel and Hamas continues to inflame global tensions and has contributed to a spike in antisemitic violence in the United States. It occurred more than a week after the fatal shooting of two Israeli embassy staffers in Washington by a Chicago man who yelled "I did it for Palestine, I did it for Gaza" as he was being led away by police.

Federal authorities are treating the Boulder attack as an act of terrorism. The FBI in Washington emphasised that it was a case of ideologically motivated violence. The Justice Department also issued a statement condemning the act, calling it “a needless act of violence,” and linking it to the broader pattern of recent attacks on Jewish Americans.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino stated in a post on X, “This act of terror is being investigated as an act of ideologically motivated violence based on early information, the evidence, and witness accounts. We will speak clearly on these incidents when the facts warrant it.”
