Cafe Review: abcoffee Might Be Mumbai’s Coolest Coffee On Wheels

Abhijeet Anand, engineer and lawyer by training; worked with leading oil and gas companies; a guy who missed his daily caffeine dose once in Mumbai.

“I realized that a good coffee was too expensive here. And I was spending nearly 45 percent of my monthly expenses on my coffee!” Abhijeet confesses. “That made me sit up and think on the lines of starting my own chain. I was already thinking about my own business, so why not coffee that Gen Z can afford.” And he was lucky to have someone like KRS Jamwal show interest in his idea and back it up with funds.

I went to the BKC truck and ordered online as well to get an overall experience. Abhijeet is all excited about his truck concept and believes that this is the future. “Our coffee is one of the best available and comes straight from the farms. We believe in farm to cup policy,” Abhijeet informs. Their blend is specially prepared after careful curation.

It’s Americano for me to be able to taste real ‘coffee’. It passes all tests. Deliciously roasted robusta, full-bodied but no bitter after taste. Cortado with Oat Milk is the next. Good. Abhijeet recommends Signature Cold Coffee. And yes… it’s a creamy delight that blends high fat milk with Amul ice cream and their special coffee blend.

Spanish Coffee and coffee with coconut milk too are good.

The food choice is limited, but interesting. Mini Croissants served like popcorn are a delight. Perfect to pick up on the go. Normal Butter Croissant is also delectable, buttery and flaky. Their puffs – Veg and non-veg are generously stuffed and the pastry tasty, thin and flaky Korean bun is soft and cheesy.
