A viral video shows a five-storey building collapsed within seconds into a nearby river in Southern China followed by extreme rainfall and severe flooding. The building seems like an under-construction site and no fatality has been reported. The land below the building reportedly caved in and the building collapsed into the nearby river.
The incident occured in China's Xinzhou town near Lengshui river. During heavy rainfall between June 30 and July 1, the Lengshui River which flows through Xinzhou experienced its worst flooding in records going back to 2005, said a separate local media report, citing the Ministry of Water Resources. The report also instructed readers on how to recognise early signs of flash flooding.
The video was posted on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter by @ABC. The caption of the video reads, "A five-story building under construction collapsed into a nearby river as the ground beneath it suddenly gave way amid flash floods in southern China."
