Local media later confirmed the camel had a numbered tag and belonged to a nearby herder. It had reportedly been separated from its herd and wandered the desert alone for months.
Though the footage was captured in late April, Haier visited the herder’s home on May 5 to check on the animal. She shared the camel is now recovering well and able to eat and walk normally.
