UP News: Ghazipur Groom Thrashed To Death By Youths Dancing To DJ Beats At His Wedding; Police Action Follows

In a shocking case reported from the Ghazipur area of Uttar Pradesh, a groom was brutally beaten up minutes after his wedding. The celebration, accompanied by DJ beats and dance, took a tragic turn after a group charged violence at the groom.

The group of youths were dancing to the music when they suddenly they broke into a fight with other guests. While the issues remains unclear, the dispute escalated and the groom's father tried to control it. But the men didn't stop, instead they attacked the elderly man with sticks. Soon, the groom stepped down from the stage to look into the matter. He was also beaten up.

Drunk accused

According to local media reports, the groom was thrashed at the door of the bride's room. The accused, allegedly drunk, started beating the groom, Rakesh, with sticks. During the brawl, a youth hit the groom's head with the buttstock of a gun.

The incident took place on Thursday during the wedding festivities.

Groom dies

Identified as Rakesh Kumar, the groom got severely injured trying to save his father from the fight that broke out at the DJ dance area. Rakesh was rushed to a hospital in Varanasi for treatment but he lost his life at the healthcare on Friday.

Police case registered

His father approached the police and informed them that the mischievous men who created ruckus at the wedding.

The police has reportedly registered a case against eight people and arrested one of them, who possessed an illegal pistol. The cops are in search of the other culprits.
