As liquor stores in Noida announced stock clearance sales by offering 'Buy 1 get 1 free' deals, people rushed to purchase alcohol bottles. The alcohol stores came up with this move before the new excise policy began on April 1. A massive crowd was witnessed at these stores in the city, with many buying cartons and boxes of liquor.

There are several videos on social media which show how people queued to buy bottles of alcohol during the offer period. Grabbing the deal, customers stood in long lines to collect their bottles of liquor across Noida stores.
Most videos showed all-men queues in Noida. In one of the clips, a man was seen walking out of the store with a huge box filled with alcohol purchases. In another video, a man told Bharat Samachar that around 1000 people visited the stores to purchase liquor. He pointed out that the store he visited didn't have the 'Buy 1 Get 1' offer, however, the bottles were being sold at a comparatively cheaper price. The man revealed that travelled from Delhi to Noida sector 18 and bought 29 quarter bottles for himself.
