Sukhram Bhunkar, a Rajasthani UPSC candidate who cleared the examination this year with AIR 448, has gone viral after a video showing him arriving at his village in luxury cars surfaced online. In the clip, Bhunkar was seen stepping down from a Range Rover Defender SUV, accompanied by a Porsche Cayenne.
The newly appointed IAS officer made his first visit to his village, reportedly as the District Collector, in a high-end convoy, which included a ₹1.25 crore Range Rover Defender SUV and an equally expensive Porsche Cayenne.
Bhunkar, who cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination, hails from a farming family. Despite financial hardships, he remained determined to study and become a collector.

The now-viral video captured him arriving at Rajasthan's Bhiyad village in a Defender 110. Dressed in western formal and wearing a traditional headdress (pagdi), he greeted locals as they welcomed him and celebrated his success.
The clip opened with Bhunkar stepping out of the Defender SUV, with a Porsche parked behind it. He was then seen being escorted by a security guard and carried on two young students' shoulders.

While many termed the visuals as "celebration" and "joy", some observers described the incident as a display of arrogance.
While many have questioned the choice of luxury cars for a government servant, some netizens were more supportive, praising Bhunkar's success.
“He is not forcing anyone to do anything; they are doing it out of their own respect,” one user commented, acknowledging the officer’s rise from humble beginnings.
Others, however, expressed disapproval, saying, "Kisaan ka Beta visiting gaon after becoming a 'collector' in Defender SUV and Porsche Cayenne as escort + making hapless security guard parade in front him while he shamelessly sits on shoulders of students- this video encapsulates everything that is wrong with this country".
