Former CM of Jharkhand and current leader of opposition, Babulal Marandi, reacted to the incident and called it a "Serious lapse in the security system". Taking a dig at the government, he wrote, "This incident in Chaibasa shows that the government is just doing a formality in the name of juvenile home".
Marandi also urged for high-level investigation and strict action in this matter. "@HemantSorenJMM Sir, all the runaway juveniles should be brought back as soon as possible and proper counselling should be arranged for them, otherwise they may become a threat to the society. Why did these children run away and due to whose negligence did they run away? A high level investigation must be conducted and action must be taken (translated from Hindi)", the BJP leader posted.
