On Monday, the popular graphic design platform, Canva, experienced a widespread outage, leaving many users unable to access the site or load their projects. The issue, which began earlier today, sparked frustration among content creators, only resulting in them sharing memes to calm down later.

The internet was flooded with memes and X was trending "Canva down" on Monday afternoon. Netizens posted hilarious memes to react to the outage. As their image and video editing projects halted, they took to different social media platforms to alert others that the website was facing a problem and temporarily down.

One user, Robyn Keet, was clearly distressed as the app faced issues when she had a presentation. Tagging Canva and pleading for help, she wrote, "I have a presentation in 10 minutes - shucks".

Another user, Hendro shared a chaotic “SpongeBob on fire” GIF to dramatize the situation.

Canva team's response on outage

The problem was identified and acknowledged by the Canva team who prompted users to a "Connection timed out" screen.

The Canva status where one can view realtime updates, stated, "We’re aware of an issue where users are unable to access Canva and are encountering timeout errors when attempting to load the platform. Our engineering team is actively investigating and working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible".
