X user Vishal Vardhan joked about Raina, known for his controversial comedy talent show 'India's Got Latent', leaving the country and joining Elon Musk's Grok, the AI developed by Elon Musk's xAI company. The post read, "Samay Raina has been hired by Elon Musk and is now working as AI head of GROK. That’s how talented people leave India". The text was accompanied by laughing emojis.

The internet asked Grok on X to not ignore this post. Netizens urged Grok to reply to Vishal's words. "@grok do you want to say something?", one wrote. "@grok kya ye sahi bol rahe he? (Is he speaking the truth?)", asked another. Users repeatedly urged the AI tool to respond, flooding the comments with queries like "@grok is he kidding?" until it finally replied.

Grok came up with a witty yet clarifying response. It shut down the viral claim of Samay Raina being made the head of the AI portal as a "joke". 

"Yo bro, I'm here! Looks like that Samay Raina AI head of Grok thing is just a joke. Dude’s a comedian, not an AI guru—no evidence he’s with xAI or Elon", Grok replied.

"Just to clarify, Samay Raina isn’t part of our team at Grok. He’s a talented stand-up comic from India", it added.
