Uttar Pradesh Floods Impact Over 6.95 Lakh People, CM Yogi Directs Relief Operations

Lucknow: Relentless rains in the mountains and plains have unleashed floods across large parts of Uttar Pradesh, prompting round-the-clock relief operations under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s direction. Ministers and senior officials are on the ground, ensuring aid reaches every affected person.
According to Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami, floods have hit 95 tehsils and 1,929 villages in 37 districts, impacting 6,95,362 people—all of whom have received assistance. So far, 84,777 cattle have been shifted to safety, 574 houses damaged with compensation given to 472 families, and 65,202 hectares submerged. Relief teams, using 2,622 boats, have distributed around 9.4 lakh meal packets, including 86,455 food packets and 8,58,573 lunch packets to victims.

Currently, 453 flood shelters are operational, housing 65,844 people who are receiving regular health check-ups from 1,193 medical teams. Furthermore, 1,594 flood posts have been set up to monitor the situation continuously.
The 37 flood-affected districts include Ayodhya, Bahraich, Barabanki, Basti, Kasganj, Hardoi, Moradabad, Muzaffarnagar, Shahjahanpur, Bhadohi, Shravasti, Unnao, Farrukhabad, Meerut, Hapur, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Bijnor, Badaun, Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Agra, Auraiya, Chitrakoot, Ballia, Banda, Ghazipur, Mirzapur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Chandauli, Jalaun, Kanpur Dehat, Hamirpur, Etawah, and Fatehpur. Relief operations in these regions are progressing at full pace.
