Harish Duhan Takes Charge As CMD Of SECL, Assumes Office At Headquarters
With over 35 years of extensive experience in the mining sector, Shri Duhan has played a pivotal role in the successful execution of key initiatives, including first-mile connectivity (FMC), digitalization, and solar projects in Coal India.

Raipur/Bilaspur: Harish Duhan has officially taken charge as the Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) on March 26, 2025 and resumed his office at SECL Headquarters on Thursday.
Prior to his appointment as CMD of SECL, Duhan served as Director Technical (Operations) at Central Coalfields Limited. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), Government of India, had recommended his name for the top post at SECL in December 2024.
Duhan has 34 years experience in the mining sector. His expertise includes implementing First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, driving digitization initiatives, and overseeing the development of solar projects in Coal India Limited, an official press release said.
He is an alumnus of Nagpur University, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering. He joined Coal India Limited in 1989 from Western Coalfields and has since held several key positions, including Area General Manager of the Nigahi Project and General Manager of Corporate Project Planning at Northern Coalfields Limited, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited.
