Wipro Q1 Profit Rises 9.8% to ₹3,336.5 Cr, Marginal Revenue Growth Amid Macro Pressures

IT major Wipro on Thursday reported a 9.8 per cent increase in consolidated profit after tax at Rs 3,336.5 crore during the June quarter.It had posted a profit after tax of Rs 3,036.6 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing.
The consolidated revenue from operations of Wipro was up marginally to Rs 22,134.6 crore during the April-June period from Rs 21,963.8 crore in the year-ago period."In a quarter shaped by macroeconomic uncertainty, clients prioritised efficiency and cost optimisation. We partnered closely with them to address these needs, resulting in 16 large deals, including two mega deals."Building on the momentum from the last quarter and supported by a strong pipeline, we are well positioned for the second half. AI is no longer experimental -- it's central to our clients' strategies, and we are delivering real impact at scale," Wipro MD and CEO Srini Pallia said.
The company has given a sequential guidance of -1 per cent to 1 per cent in constant currency terms. It expects revenue from its IT services segment to be in the range of USD 2,560 million to USD 2,612 million in the September quarter.Shares of Wipro settled 0.93 per cent lower at Rs 260.25 apiece on the BSE on Thursday.
