WhatsApp’s latest iOS beta version 25.19.10.80 reveals that the team is working on bringing a new feature - “Threaded Message Replies.”. As the name suggests, it groups replies under the original message, improving readability in busy chats. While still under development, it signals a major enhancement in how users navigate conversations. With this feature, WhatsApp is looking to revamp the chat experience completely and make it more structured.
WhatsApp Threaded Message Replies: What is it?
The upcoming WhatsApp reply threads aims to give group discussions a clear structure and help users understand conversation context better. WABetaInfo reports that the feature is a work-in-progress, and is expected to roll out to users globally very soon. Once the new feature arrives, message bubbles in chats will show a small badge noting how many replies are attached to it. Tapping the badge will open a new screen displaying all replies to that message in one place. Users will be able to read and reply from within the thread itself. The report claims that Reply Threads will help declutter group chats by bundling related discussions, making it easier to follow who replied to what.
Why is WhatsApp Threaded Message Replies significant?
With high-traffic group conversations, replies often get lost in the noise. By maintaining reply context, the threaded view reduces confusion and prevents users from manually hunting for original messages. A similar feature is already being tested on Android, suggesting WhatsApp is working towards bringing this feature for both iPhone and Android smartphone users.
The feature is under development, so even users with the beta version may not see it yet. The report says that WhatsApp will be internal testing it before a wider beta release.
