Ex-Pakistan cricketer Tanveer Ahmed has made a shocking comment over Rajasthan Royals alleged with match-fixing amid their struggling IPL 2025 campaign. Taking to X, Tanveer claimed that the BCCI might have the biggest T20 league in this world, but fixing cases are equally bigger and most fixers own IPL franchises.
The convener of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) and Ad Hoc committee, Jaideep Bihani had reportedly accused the Royals of fixing the game against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after the inaugural IPL champions lost the game by two runs.
With nine runs to get in the final over for the Royals and Avesh Khan bowling, the right-arm speedster successfully defended it, sneaking a two-run win. Shimron Hetmyer was dismissed in the third ball of the over and Shubham Dubey failed to score six runs in the remaining three deliveries as the Royals crashed to their sixth defeat of the season.
Taking to X, Tanveer wrote:
"BCCi bolta ha humari IPL duniya ke sab say bari league ha han woh tou ha lekin fixing bhi sab say bari hote ha ziyada tar tou team's fixer's kay pass hain." (BCCI says our IPL is the world's biggest T20 league but their fixing scandals are even bigger. Most of the teams are with the fixers).
Rajasthan Royals strongly deny match-fixing allegations
A senior Rajasthan Royals' official Deep Roy slammed the allegations, stating how such claims have negatively impacted the credibility of their franchise. As quoted by Live Mint, he stated:
"We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket."
