'You Really Brought A Book?' Nikola Jokic's Reaction To Victor Wembanyama's Admission Ahead Of NBA All-Star Game Goes Viral; Video

National Basketball Association (NBA) Star Nikola Jokic poked fun at Victor Wembanyama at the locker room as the latter geared up for his first all-star NBA match at the Oracle Arena on Sunday. With Wembanyama acknowledged to reading a book and revealing that it's a personal tradition he follows before every match, Jokic's reaction to the same went viral.

In the video shared by NBA's official handle on the platform of X, Jokic asked the French basketball player, "You really brought a book". In response, the 21-year-old said, "Yeah, I read before every game." In reply, the Serbian athlete jokingly mocked him by showing facepalm and was shown laughing.

Jokic, meanwhile, became the latest athlete to react to a stunning trade of Luka Doncic by the Dallas Mavericks to Los Angeles Lakers, claiming that the 25-year-old is a high-impact player. Hence, it was a shocking move but feels it serves as a warning to players that no one is safe. The Serbian said, as quoted by playoffs.com:

"I think both teams win. You know, I think—maybe in my opinion, of course—maybe, you know, I think Luka is a generational player, generational talent. Luka—I’m not saying that he’s not. I’m just saying, I think Luka is somebody that—we see someone like him before—who is affecting the game in so many levels, so many possessions. It’s just, he was building something there, you know. I think he was hurt."

"I think it’s good because then people will maybe—and players gonna take more serious. I think, as a trade, it’s not such a big thing, you know. But if you traded someone like that, I think it kind of becomes a little bit big thing. And maybe players become a little bit serious about it."
