Manchester United winger Amad Diallo stirred controversy after making an offensive gesture towards fans during the club’s post-season tour of Asia but the 20-year-old insists he has no regrets.
In viral clips circulating on social media, Diallo is seen raising his middle finger while disembarking from the team bus in Malaysia. The gestures appeared to be directed at sections of the crowd following United's 1-0 defeat to an Asean All-Stars XI at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on Wednesday night.

Diallo has since taken to social media to explain his actions, revealing he had been subjected to deeply personal abuse. Taking to X he wrote, “I have respect for people but not for the one who insults my mom… I shouldn’t have reacted like that but I don’t regret what I did,” he wrote. “We had a great time in Malaysia with good people.”
The match in Kuala Lumpur marked the first leg of United’s post-season tour of Asia. The Red Devils, however, were met with boos from frustrated fans following their shock defeat yet another low in what has been a disastrous campaign for the club.
Ruben Amorim looking to turn things around
United ended the Premier League season in 15th place, their worst finish in 51 years, and also missed out on Champions League qualification after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham. The Asian tour is expected to earn the club around £8 million and includes upcoming fixtures in Hong Kong.
Despite the setbacks, manager Ruben Amorim is focused on moving forward. Speaking ahead of the next friendly, he said: “We want to turn the page. It’s been a tough season, but this tour is also a chance to rebuild our connection with fans around the world.”
