For Janik Sinner the win was a redemption after losing the French Open to the same oponent months back. Sinner became the first Italian man to win Wimbledon in the competition's 148-year history. The loss also ends Alcaraz's dreams of winning a hattrick of Wimbledon titles, and gives Sinner his fourth Grand Slam. Sinner also becomes the first man to beat Alcaraz in a Grand Slam final.
