Novak Djokovic on the nasty fall

Speaking after the match, Djokovic admitted the fall had left him shaken. “I did not fall so far this year. It is surprising because of the way I move on grass very aggressive you expect to fall and to have these situations.”

“Obviously, [my] body is not the same today like it was before, so I guess the real impact or effect of what happened I will feel tomorrow. So let's see. I'm hoping the next 24, 48 hours, the severity of what happened is not too bad, that I'll be able to play at my best and free of pain in two days.”

Novak DJokovic eyeing history

Djokovic is seeking to tie Roger Federer’s record of eight trophies at the grass-court major. Should Djokovic win the title, he would become the oldest champion in the tournament's Open Era history, surpassing Federer’s record set in 2017 when he triumphed aged 35.

The Serbian's next match pits him against top seed Jannik Sinner, the 23-year-old who has beaten Djokovic in their previous four meetings. The Italian leads Djokovic 5-4 in the head-to-head record.
