WCL 2025 Semi-Final Scenario: What Happens If Indian Players Decide To Boycott Match Against Pakistan Again?
The league stage match between the two teams was called off after several Indian players cited diplomatic tensions between the countries as the reason. The organisers are yet to comment on whether the match will happen or not.

India and Pakistan cricket teams are in the spotlight yet again as both teams are set to face each other in the semifinal of the World Championship of Legends. However, the big question is whether these teams will play each other after what happened during the league stage.
The match was called off with the Indian players withdrawing their names. However, now that the stakes are high, will organisers call off the match again?

The format of the tournament is such that the top-four teams after the end of the league stage will advance to the semifinals. The team at the top of the points table will take on the fourth-placed side in the first semifinal, while the second and fourth-placed teams will square off in the second semifinal. So, according to the current points table, India will face Pakistan in the first semifinal while South Africa face Australia in the second semifinal.

Pakistan Champions qualified after topping the group stage with four wins and one no result from five matches, while India Champions finished fourth after one win, one no result and three defeats.
The league stage match between the two teams was called off after several Indian players cited diplomatic tensions between the countries as the reason.
However if India decides to boycott the match once again, there are chances that Pakistan could be awarded in the final courtesy of them topping the points table during league stage and India will crash out. The organisers are yet to comment on whether the match will happen or not.
Shikhar Dhawan fumes over playing Pakistan in semi final
Shikhar Dhawan was visibly upset after being asked about the possibility of playing against Pakistan in the World Championship of Legends (WCL), calling the question poorly timed. In a video which has surfaced online, Dhawan was questioned about whether he would consider taking the field against Pakistan if the two sides were to meet in the semifinals.
The question did not sit well with the left-handed opener, who made his stance crystal clear. He said,“You’re asking this question at the wrong time and place; you shouldn’t have asked it. And even if I didn’t play earlier, I still won’t play now,”
