Tempers flared after the Europa League final in Bilbao when Manchester United defender Harry Maguire and Tottenham’s Cristian Romero had to be separated following a heated exchange on the pitch. The incident happened after the had ended as Unite players looked dejected
Romero's handshake was rejected by Maguire, but as he walked by to hug United’s Diogo Dalot, Maguire approached him, visibly angry and gesturing toward an earlier incident. Things quickly escalated, and both players had to be pulled apart by teammates and staff before the argument turned physical. Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon and others stepped in to calm the situation.
