Virender Sehwag & Shikhar Dhawan Come Out In Support Of Indian Army Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

Former team India cricketers Virender Sehwag and Shikhar Dhawan took to social media and posted a message showing their support towards the Indian Armed Forces. Their messages come after India intercepted several Pakistan attacks.

Virender Sehwag took to social media platform X to slam Pakistan’s actions. “War has been chosen by Pakistan when they had an opportunity to keep quiet. Operation Sindoor,” he wrote, showing clear support for India’s retaliation.

Shikhar Dhawan also praised the Indian forces for their quick and effective action. He posted, “Respect to our brave hearts for protecting our borders with such strength and stopping the drone attack on Jammu. India stands strong. Jai Hind!”.

India neutralise Pakistan attacks

In a major escalation of cross-border tensions, Indian defense forces successfully intercepted and neutralized multiple aerial threats originating from Pakistan in the early hours of Thursday. At around 4 a.m., a Pakistani drone was detected over Jamnagar, Gujarat, prompting Indian forces to swiftly shoot it down. In response to the intrusion, authorities imposed a citywide blackout in Jamnagar as a security measure.

This incident was part of a broader and coordinated offensive by Pakistan involving both drone and missile attacks targeting several Indian states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir.

In retaliation, Indian forces launched an extensive counter-drone campaign spanning key areas such as Udhampur, Samba, Jammu, Akhnoor, Nagrota, and Pathankot. More than 50 Pakistani drones were destroyed in what has been described as one of the most comprehensive anti-drone operations in recent memory.

In a significant development, Indian air defense also shot down a Pakistani Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) aircraft operating over Pakistani Punjab. The AWACS, a critical asset for surveillance and battlefield coordination, crashed on Pakistani territory, dealing a substantial blow to Pakistan's aerial command infrastructure.

In the aftermath of the attacks, Indian Air Force bases across northern India have been placed on high alert. Combat aircraft continue to conduct regular aerial patrols, while radar systems maintain heightened surveillance of cross-border movements.
