Team India's T20I skipper and Mumbai batter Suryakumar Yadav was out cheaply in the first innings of the ongoing Ranji Trophy quarter-final game against Haryana on day one at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The right-handed batter was castled by an in-swinger by Sumit Kumar, leaving the veteran stunned and forced him to walk back for 9 off 5 deliveries, albeit laced with two boundaries.

The dismissal occurred in the eighth over of the innings as the right-arm seamer brought one back in to castle the 34-year-old. Although Suryakumar had hit a couple of boundaries, he was late to bring the bat down in time and the ball sneaked through to send the leg stump out of the ground.

Below is the video of his dismissal:

It was also Kumar's second wicket of the innings as he had dismissed Akash Anand for 10 off 21 deliveries earlier in the innings. Nevertheless, Anshul Kamboj was most destructive as he dismissed Ayush Mhatre on the first ball of the innings and followed it up with wickets of Siddhesh Lad (4) and Ajinkya Rahane (31).

Suryakumar Yadav endured a forgettable T20I series against England

The Mumabi-born cricketer already had a T20I series to forget when India took on England in a contest of five matches. In five games, the right-handed batter managed only 28 runs with a best of 14 along with registering two ducks.

However, it didn't prevent a series win for India as they emerged victorious by 4-1.
