A video of the same surfaced on social media as the left-handed batter was talking to a few people outside the team's hotel.

The left-handed batter had suffered a gruesome injury to his right foot while attempting a reverse-sweep off a yorker bowled by Chris Woakes on Day 1 of the previous Test in Manchester. Although Pant returned to bat, much to the commentators and fans' praise on Day 2 and scored 53, he could not keep wickets as Dhruv Jurel had to step in.
