Ravindra Jadeja was caught screaming at fellow pacer Shardul Thakur for poor fielding effort. Ravindra Jadeja, nearly dismissed Root twice off successive deliveries, was livid with the all-rounder's lacklustre effort after gifting away three runs in the final session on Tuesday.

The incident happened in the fourth ball of the 62nd over. Jadeja tossed one up to the former England captain, inviting the drive. Root taking the opportunity drove the ball towards mid on, where Shardul Thakur overran the ball and slipped. What should have been a two at the max turned out to be three runs as Shardul took his own sweet time to get up and pick up the ball. While Jadeja was really upset with Thakur, the all-rounder also reacted and tried to explain that he slipped.
India fielding effort in the opening Test has been poor one with Yashasvi Jaiswal alone dropping four catches including two innings. Jadeja himself dropped Ben Duckett in the first innings.
