Indian Premier League team Delhi Capitals is currently trending on social media X over signing Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman as a replacement player for Australia's Jake Fraser-McGurk who will be absent from the remaining matches.

The 29-year-old pacer, a veteran of 106 T20 Internationals, makes a familiar return to the Delhi Capitals squad. However, his inclusion has sparked controversy among a section of fans, leading to the hashtag #BoycottDelhiCapitals trending on X (formerly Twitter).
Some users voiced their displeasure by highlighting concerns over the treatment of minorities in Mustafizur’s home country, while others referenced past instances where fellow Bangladeshi players were perceived to have shown support for Pakistan-backed terrorism in India.
Mustafizur Rahman's IPL journey
Mustafizur Rahman is set to don the Delhi Capitals jersey once again, bringing with him a wealth of IPL experience and a proven track record. The Bangladeshi left-arm pacer made his IPL debut in 2016 and has since played for multiple franchises including Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals. He previously featured for Delhi in the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
His most impactful stint with Delhi came in 2022, where he claimed 8 wickets in 8 matches while maintaining an impressive economy rate of 7.62. Though he only played two matches in the 2023 season, his ability to bowl effectively in both the powerplay and death overs continues to be a key asset.
In total, Mustafizur has appeared in 57 IPL matches, collecting 61 wickets at an economy rate of 8.14. As Delhi Capitals fight to stay in playoff contention, his return adds depth and much-needed experience to the bowling attack.
