Former Team India skipper Virat Kohli was full of praise for the Shubman Gill-led side following their historic win at Edgbaston. Team India crushed England by 336 runs to record their first-ever win at this venue. The architects of the win were Shubman Gill, Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj.
Kohli, taking to X, wrote, "Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch. @ShubmanGill @mdsirajofficial #AkashDeep"

Team India stage strong comeback
India made a terrific comeback after losing the series opener in Leeds to make it one-all. New captain Shubman Gill continued his dream run on the tour smashing his maiden double-century in the first innings followed by another hundred in the second to break multiple records.
Gill’s marathon innings of 269 helped India to 587-all out after they were asked to bat first. Siraj then took a six-fer haul while Akash took a four-wicket haul as India bowled out England for 407 and took a healthy 180-run lead.
Gill in teh second innings hit 161 off 162 in the second dig as India set England a record 608 runs to win. After Siraj's splendid performance in the first innings. It was then Akashdeep turn to dismantle England batting lineup. Coming in for Bumrah, the youngster silenced his doubters with a six wicket haul to help India bowl out England for 271 and record a mammoth 336-run win on Day 5.
Having played at this ground from 1967, this was India's first-ever win at this ground in ninth attempt. Goign into the third test at Lords India have levelld the series at 1-1.
