Former Pakistan head coach Jason Gillespie has stunningly revealed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to complete a few remuneration formalities, having left the team months ago. The former Australian speedster hopes for those to complete sooner than later.
Gillespie, who was appointed in the first half of 2024, stepped down from the role ahead of the South Africa tour in the later half of the year and later revealed that he was being blindsided. During an interview with ABC Sport in December 2024, the 50-year-old stated that he felt blindsided and was unsure whether the PCB wanted him to continue doing the job.
Meanwhile, in a recent interview with PakPassion, Gillespie stated:
"I'm still waiting on some remuneration from work that's being done. So I'll just navigate through that in due course. Admittedly, that's been a little bit disappointing, but hopefully that can get sorted sooner rather than later. But yeah, we'll learn. But yeah, as I said, hopefully that'll get sorted as soon as possible."
Jason Gillespie's coaching tenure saw Pakistan going through enormous highs and lows
Gillespie started his coaching tenure with the Test series at home against Bangladesh which Pakistan lost 2-0. However, the Asian Giants bounced from an innings defeat against England in the three-Test rubber to clinch the series 2-1.
With Gary Kirsten resigning before the Australia tour, Gillespie had taken over as the limited-overs coach and Pakistan won their first bilateral ODI series Down Under in two decades.
