The Philadelphia Eagles got their long-awaited revenge on Sunday night. Two years after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, the Eagles turned the tables with a dominant 40-22 victory to claim the Super Bowl LIX title.
Quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the Super Bowl MVP for his outstanding performance. This rematch between the Eagles and Chiefs came after their thrilling showdown two years ago, where Kansas City secured a narrow 38-35 win.
For the Chiefs, this was their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance, having won back-to-back titles in 2023 and 2024.
This marked the Eagles’ second Super Bowl appearance in three years and their fifth in franchise history. They previously won their first and only Super Bowl title in 2018. Had the Chiefs won, they would have made history as the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowls
