Fran Jones medical condition
Born with a rare genetic condition called Ectrodactyly Ectodermal Dysplasia, Jones has faced numerous challenges in her life. This condition causes malformation or absence of fingers and toes, and even facial clefts. Despite having one finger missing on each hand and only seven toes in total, Jones has not only persevered but thrived in her career. Currently ranked 129th in the WTA rankings, she is widely regarded as an inspiration to others.
Despite her inspiring resilience, Jones has faced ongoing physical challenges throughout her career. In fact, she has had to retire from matches 19 times, including twice in 2025 alone. This latest withdrawal from the Colsanitas Cup marks a difficult setback for the young star, especially given her victory over Riera in straight sets just the week before at the same tournament.
