Veteran Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami has reportedly received a death threat via an email address from a man named Rajput Sindhar, demanding ₹1 crore. The development follows, days after Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir had received a similar threat and he immediately complained to the Delhi Police about the same.

As reported by Amar Ujala, the email says Shami will be killed if the money demanded by them is not received. The report also says that the veteran pacer's brother Mohammed Haseeb saw the email and informed SP of Amroha about the matter and it followed submitting a complaint letter, demanding a strict action. The email address reportedly came on May 4, Sunday in the evening.

The complaint by Amroha police was registered with the Cyber Cell and Amar Ujala reported that the resident is believed to be from Karnataka, with his name said to be as Prabhakar.

Mohammed Shami struggling for form in IPL 2025

Contrary to expectations, Shami, who was roped in by the SunRisers Hyderabad has struggled massively for form this season. In nine matches, the 34-year-old has managed only five scalps at 56.16 alongside maintaining an economy rate of 11.23.

The SunRisers are all set to face the Delhi Capitals on May 5, Monday in what looms as a must-win encounter. A defeat on Monday will officially knock the SunRisers out of playoff contention. While a victory will keep the Orange Army's playoff hopes alive, they will still face an uphill task to qualify for the same.
