Nagpada Basketball Association Tournament: Sanklap Panda Leads From The Front To Guide Savio Club To Easy Win Over Thane Warriors

Leading from the front Sanklap Panda scored 16 points to guide Savio Club to a facile 77-36 (half-time: 35-16) win against Thane Warriors in a Men’s Open first round match of the Nagpada Basketball Association basketball tournament played under floodlights at the Late Bachoo Khan Municipal Playground, Nagpada late on Friday night.

Savio Club outfit showed good understanding and coordination as they easily made inroads into the rival area to find the hoop at regular intervals, and ran away with the match.

Sanklap’s teammate Karan S. chipped in with 10 points, while young Aryan M. exhibited his accurate skills shooting three consecutive three-pointers midway through the match.

Earlier, International YMCA powered by captain Sagar Hingorani’s brilliance charged past HI-5 ‘B’ winning by a comfortable 44-18 (half-time: 24-10) in a boys’ U-13 first round match.

Sagar consistently found the basket to top-score with 17 points while, teammates Anshuman Hooda 12 points and Moksh K. 8 points added to the scoreboard. For HI–5 ‘B’ Divyanshu P. and Shantanu B. scored 8 and 6 points.

Result – Men’s Open (first round): Savio Club (Sanklap Panda 16, Karan S. 10, Aryan M. 9) beat Thane Warriors (S. Shetty 17, Vishal S. 7) - 77-36 (half-time: 35-16).

Boys’ U-13 (first round): International YMCA (Samar Hingorani 17, Anshuman Hooda 12, Moksh K. 8) beat HI–5 ‘B’ (Divyanshu P. 8, Shantanu B. 6) - 44-18 (half-time: 24-10).
