'My Country, My Identity, My Life': Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar Lead Cricket Fraternity Wishes on India's 79th Independence Day
As the tricolour is hoisted across the country, people from the Indian cricket fraternity wish the people of the country a happy Independence Day.

As India celebrated its 79th Independence Day, members of the cricketing community took to social media and extended warm wishes to the nation.Leading the tributes, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was among the first to greet fans on the historic occasion. Soon after, several prominent cricketers joined in, posting heartfelt messages across various platforms.
Stars like Hardik Pandya, Harbhajan Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman were among those who shared their wishes, expressing pride and gratitude.

PM Modi's pushes for Sports in remote areas
India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi who hoisted the national flag at the Red Fort on Friday and had given a speech in which he emphasised on the government’s commitment to promoting sports in India's most remote and underserved regions. While addressing the nation, PM Modi said, "From school to the Olympics, we want to develop a complete ecosystem. We want to promote sports in far-flung areas; national sports policy will help in this matter,".
He added,"Sports also hold importance for development, and I am glad that today, if children take an interest in sports, parents are filled with pride. I consider this a very auspicious sign for the future of the country. To promote sports, we have introduced the Khelo India policy in the country after many decades. So that efforts can be made for the all-round development of the sports world."
