IIT Baba, also called Abhay Singh, who went viral during Maha Kumbh, has taken a U-turn after India's crushing victory over Pakistan in the Champions Trophy 2025 clash on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. Having predicted before the match that India will not win, he has now taken to X, claiming that he knew within himself that Rohit Sharma and co. will emerge victorious.
Before the game, he confidently stated that India won't win on Sunday; however, the Men in Blue secured a comprehensive win over their arch-rivals. After bowling Mohammad Rizwan and co. out for 241 inside 50 overs, India needed only 42.3 overs to gun down the target and did with six wickets to spare, thanks to Virat Kohli's unbeaten 100.
However, in the post on X, immediately after India's win, he wrote:
"I want to publicly apologize and ask each one of you all to celebrate,it's party time... Mujhe man hi man pata tha ki india jetega."
Pakistan eliminated from Champions Trophy 2025 along with Bangladesh; India and New Zealand qualify
Meanwhile, Bangladesh headed to Rawalpindi to face New Zealand with a hope of keeping their campaign alive. A win for the Tigers would also have helped Pakistan stay alive, given they have already suffered two defeats. Nevertheless, the Kiwis restricted Bangladesh to 236, with only Najmul Hossain Shanto making a solid 77 from 110 deliveries. However, Rachin Ravindra followed it up with a well-constructed ton to take their side home with five wickets to spare.
Although Pakistan and Bangladesh will face one another in their last group game, it will be an inconsequential fixture.
