14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi was hounded by journalists on his arrival in Patna, Bihar after his exploits in IPL 2025 for the Rajasthan Royals amid the franchise's dismal campaign. In a video surfaced on social media, multiple reporters were seen asking questions to Suryavanshi about his performance in the ten-team tournament.

The Rajasthan Royals opener notably hit the first ball he faced in IPL for a six and has finished the tournament with 252 runs in seven matches alongside a strike rate of 206.55. Although the Royals could go for an overhaul next season after failing to make it to the playoffs this year, Suryavanshi is likely to be one of the first names in their retention list.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi picked for India's U19 tour of England

The 14-year-old's performances in IPL 2025 have been rewarded by the BCCI's junior selection committee by naming them in the India U19 squad for the forthcoming England tour. The tour comprises of a warm-up 50-over fixture, followed by a five-match youth one-day rubber and two Multi-day games against England U19 team. Ayush Mhatre, who has equally performed well for the Chennai Super Kings this year, will lead the side in England.
