Lionel Messi displayed a moment of exceptional genius during Inter Miami's win over CF Montreal. In the 61st minute of the match, Messi was given the ball shortly after the halfway line, and he calmly slotted it past the goalie into the net after breezing past four Montreal players. Messi demonstrated his signature close control, quickness, and exquisite finishing with the goal, which gave Miami a 4-1 lead.
Messi has now scored 12 goals and seven assists in fourteen MLS appearances this season, leading Miami's attack while forming a devastating partnership with Luis Suárez (five goals and eight assists).
Following their 4-1 victory over CF Montreal, Inter Miami will go on the road once again to face the New England Revolution on July 9. They’ll then return to Chase Stadium to host Nashville SC on July 12, which they’ll follow up with a road trip to face FC Cincinnati on July 16.
Miami outclass Montreal
Miami, playing its first Major League Soccer (MLS) match in over a month, has won three straight matches in the league. Owusu gave Montreal a 1-0 lead in the second minute. The Argentina skipper then put Miami ahead 2-1 in the 40th minute. Coming up the right side, the Argentine cut inside toward the middle of the box and curled a low shot into the bottom far corner.
