NZ 60-6 after 20 overs. Except the falter at the toss, Rohit Sharma has not put a foot wrong as captain. Indian bowlers have been all over the Kiwi batsmen. Mohammed Shamo and Siraj started off with a disciplined line and length as they troubled the Kiwi batsmen. Even Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur bowled a relentless line to have NZ reeling at 15-5 at one time.

The stadium had hosted two IPL games of Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2013 and 2015, and also played host to eight matches of the now-defunct Champions League T20.
