Afghanistan’s Ibrahim Zadran delivered a stunning performance in the ongoing Champions Trophy match, scoring a sensational 177 runs. With this knock, he set a new record for the highest individual score in Champions Trophy history, surpassing Ben Duckett’s previous record against Australia.
Zadran also made history by becoming the first Afghan player to score centuries in both the World Cup and Champions Trophy. He reached this milestone in style, smashing a six off Jofra Archer.

England and Afghanistan are playing a crucial virtual knockout match, where the losing team will be eliminated. Afghanistan, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, had a shaky start, losing three wickets early. However, Zadran’s exceptional innings steadied the team and turned the game in their favor.
Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi added 40 runs, while Azamatullah Omarzai played a vital knock of 41. Their contributions helped Afghanistan build a strong total.
Afghanistan finishes at 325/5 after 50 overs, with Zadran scored remarkable 177 runs and Mohammad Nabi supporting innings of 40 runs.
For England, Jofra Archer has been the standout performer with three wickets, showing his dominance with the ball. Jamie Overton and Adil Rashid have also chipped in with one wicket each. Liam Livingstone picked two wickets.
