After registering scores of 1, 4, and 0 in the first round, Kohli had a decent outing with the bat in India's opening Super 8 match against Afghanistan, scoring 24 off 24 balls.

In the next match against Bangladesh, the 35-year-old gradually returned to his form as played an innings of 37 off 28 balls to help India post a total of 196/5. However, in India's final Super 8 fixture against Australia, Kohli was dismissed for a five-bal duck.

In the T20 World Cup 2024, Kohli has managed to score only 75 runs at an average of 10.71 and a strike rate of 100 in seven matches.
