The ongoing Match 5 of IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad saw a dog interrupt play on multiple occasions. Mumbai Indians' skipper and all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen trying to play with the dog, but it ran away as the security guards chased them in a viral video.

The 30-year-old seam-bowling all-rounder had already come under the spotlight during the toss, facilitated by Ravi Shastri as the crowd booed him. With Hardik shifting his base to the Mumbai Indians, two years after leading the Gujarat Titans, several eyebrows were raised. At the same time, replacing Rohit Sharma as captain when the former has won 5 titles for the Mumbai-based franchise, triggered further backlash.

Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee share 5 wickets between them to restrict Gujarat Titans to 168:

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah and Gerald Coetzee were brilliant with the ball after Hardik Pandya sent the Titans into bat. Bumrah, who struck in his first over, finished with figures of 4-0-14-3, dismissing Wriddhiman Saha, B Sai Sudharsan, and David Miller. Coetzee took figures of 4-0-27-2, getting rid of Azmatullah Omarzai and Rahul Tewatia. Sudharsan also top-scored for the Titans with 45.

Nevertheless, Omarzai has provided an outstanding start to the Titans with the ball, dismissing Ishan Kishan for a three-ball duck. Both sides will be looking to join Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, and Rajasthan Royals as the teams to start IPL 2024 with a win.
