He received a heartwarming surprise from his parents after the day's play captured beautifully by the BCCI in a special behind-the-scenes video.
Shubman Gill receives surpise message from parents
Durign the video where Gill offered post match routine, he receoved a surpise audio call from his parents. His father said, "Shubman beta, well played. Aaj teri batting dekhke bahut maza aaya. Aur dil mein bahut shukun mila...bahut hi proud feel huwa." His mother echoed the emotion, saying, "Bahut achcha laga tumhari batting dekhkar. Keep going, God bless you."

The video also shows his post-match routine. From ice baths and pool recovery to fulfilling media duties and signing autographs, Gill’s evening was a mix of professionalism and pride. But it was the welcome at the team hotel that truly captured the emotion of the day—he was greeted with traditional dhol beats, loud cheers, and smiling teammates.
Reflecting on the experience, Gill shared with a laugh, "I went to the pool for some recovery, came back, showered. I was having dinner and you guys stopped me in the middle to record this." He added, "Once I’m done with my routine, that’s when I check my phone before bed - mainly to speak to my family and close friends."
India on top against England
Gill’s innings of 269 not only helped India post a mammoth 587 but also gave them a commanding grip on the match. England, reeling at 25 for 3, managed to crawl to 77 for 3 at stumps, still trailing by 510 runs, with Joe Root and Harry Brook offering a glimmer of resistance.
