According to a picture going viral on X, Garnacho reacted with two heartbreak emojis on Rodriguez's Instagram post but it's strongly believed to be a fabricated image.

A couple of users on X pointed out the flaw in the morphed picture as the word 'Author' was written against his name.

With Garnacho citing Ronaldo as his idol on plenty of occasions, he played down comparisons with the legend in May. The comparison arose when his goal against Brentford took him to 24, one lesser than matching Ronaldo for United before turning 21. The youngster had stated, as quoted by manutd.com:
"I’m not focused on the numbers. I think when Cristiano played here, he was a different footballer, [they were] a different type of games. I just try to help the team and try to win games."
The Portuguese footballer played for Manchester United in two stints one from 2003 to 2009 and second from 2021-2022. Ronaldo's first stint with the decorated club saw him net 84 goals in 196 appearances. He has been playing for Al Nassr since 2023.
