Mumbai Indians have unveiled their new jersey for the Indian Premier League (IPL ) 2025 season on Friday. Hardik Pandya in his heartfelt message to the fans promised to uphold the proud legacy of Mumbai along with the team's core of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma.
Pandya said, "Dear Paltan, 2025 is our opportunity to bring the legacy where it belongs. With the blue & gold on us, we will take the field to Play like Mumbai. This is not just our jersey. This is a promise to you. Chala bhetu, Wankhede la (Let’s meet at Wankhede)!"

Mumbai Indians to play Chennai Super Kings In Opening match
Five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) will open its Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 23 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
MI will face CSK again, on April 20, at the Wankhede Stadium at home. Mumbai will face CSK, Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad twice during the league stage of the tournament.Last season, the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians finished last in the standings, with eight points in 14 matches.
In the buildup to the tournament, MI has roped in Mujeeb Ur Rahman to replace fellow Afghanistan spinner Allah Ghazanfar for their IPL 2025 campaign. The five-time champions announced the same on their official social media handle on February 16, Sunday. According to the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB), the 17-year-old was ruled out due to a fracture in the L4 vertebra, specifically in the left pars interarticularis.
