Former Mumbai Indians Cricketer Shivalik Sharma Arrested In Rape Case In Rajasthan
A case against the left-handed batter has been filed at the Kudi Bhagatsani police station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and reports suggest that the cops are currently busy tracing Shivalik.

Former Mumbai Indians cricketer Shivalik Sharma has been arrested on rape charges amid the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). A case against the left-handed batter has been filed at the Kudi Bhagatsani police station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan and a report of NDTV Rajasthan says that he has been sent to judicial custody.

As per media reports, the complaint was made by a woman, who is said to be a resident of Sector 2 in Kudi Bhagatsani. The woman accused Shivalik of establishing physical relations with her under the pretext of promising to marry her. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anand Rajpurohit is said to have revealed details about the case, saying the woman met Shivalik in Vadodara in February 2023 and they grew closer that culminated in an engagement ceremony.
Reports further claimed that Shivalik's parents broke off the engagement in August 2024, revealing that they looked for a different match for their son.
Shivalik Sharma's cricketing journey
The 26-year-old batting all-rounder was part of the Mumbai Indians previously but hadn't played a game. As far as his cricketing journey goes, Shivalik has featured in 18 first-class matches, followed by 13 in List A format and 19 in domestic T20s. The youngster's last professional game came in January 2025 during the Ranji Trophy when he featured for Vadodra.
As for the Mumbai Indians, their IPL 2025 campaign is flying high as they have won six consecutive matches on the trot. They are currently in the fourth position with seven victories in ten matches.
