AUS vs NED, CWC 2023: Bas de Leede went wicketless in his 10 overs and conceded 115 runs, which is the most expensive spell in ODI history.
The Netherlands pacer Bas de Leede bowled the most expensive spell in ODI history on Wednesday during their match against Australia in the ICC World Cup 2023 in Delhi.
De Leede went wicketless as he got smashed for 115 runs from 10 overs, which is two more than the 113 runs conceded by Australia's Mick Lewis against South Africa in Johannesburg in 2006.
The Dutch players had a forgettable day in the field against the Aussies with de Leede coming off worse after getting hit for 13 fours and six sixes in his spell. He had an economy of 11.50 at the end of the innings.

The rest of the bowlers in the team also suffered at the hands of David Warner and Glenn Maxwell, both of whom smashed centuries in Australia's total of 399 for 8 in 50 overs.
Logan van Beek's four-wicket haul was the only bright spot in the bowling department for the Dutch as Australia posted the highest team total against the Netherlands in World Cups, bettering their own effort of 358 for 5 at Basseterre in the 2007 edition in the West Indies.
Maxwell smashes fastest ODI WC hundred
Maxwell top-scored for the five-time champions with 106 off 44 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes while Warner hit 104 from 93 balls. Maxwell's century came off just 40 balls, which is the fastest in ODI World Cup history.

"Feels pretty good. I've been pretty cooked all day. Probably just cleared my head a bit to just go out and play. The situation when Davey and Greeny got out, I had to take it deep a little bit. Patty was good as well.
"Netherlands saved a couple of certain boundaries. (Summary) Could've been a better score but they were outstanding in the field. The ball seems to travel here," Maxwell said at the mid-innings break.
