The one-off knockout match will determine which team progresses to the tournament’s group stage. The FC Goa vs Al Seeb AFC Champions League Two preliminary stage match will take place on Wednesday, August 13, at the Fatorda Stadium in Goa.
FC Goa booked their place in this year’s preliminary stage by winning the Super Cup last season, marking their second triumph in the domestic tournament’s history.
This marks FC Goa’s return to continental competition for the first time since their historic 2021 campaign, where they became the first Indian club to compete in the AFC Champions League group stage. Despite a spirited effort, the Gaurs finished third in Group E that season, collecting three points from six matches and failing to advance.
Al Seeb Club, are one of Oman’s top football sides and come into the match with a strong pedigree. The reigning Oman Professional League champions have won the domestic title four times in the last six years. Al Seeb also etched their name in history in 2022 by winning the AFC Cup, now rebranded as the AFC Champions League Two becoming the first and only Omani club to do so.
