Sanju Samson and Team India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar were captured singing together during the team bonding activity session ahead of the upcoming T20I series against England. Samson sang "Pahla Nasha" from Amir Khan's 1992 blockbuster "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar", much to the delight of the rest of the Indian cricketers
Samson seemed to be in all smiles and enjoying the environment despite recently getting snubbed from Team India's Champions Trophy 2025 squad. The cricketer shared the video on his Instagram handle with the caption, "Nothing is impossible !!! Njan paadi Mein Mumbai aa sakta hu ?".
India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to troll his teammate by saying, "Aap Mumbai aa rahe hai lekin Chennai Rajkot Pune audition ke baad (You are coming to Mumbai but after auditions in Chennai, Rajkot and Pune).
Samson will only play T20I series against England despite having an outstanding series in South Africa. The wicketkeeper-batsman smashed two consecutive centuries and played a crucial role in helping India win the series. Despite such a terrific performance, he couldn't secure a spot in the Indian team for the ODI series and the Champions Trophy.
According to reports, skipper Rohit Sharma and chief selector Ajit Agarakar gave preference to Pant over Kerela’s wicketkeeper. Gambhir gave his vote to Samson, considering his performances in T20Is, but the captain and the head of the selection committee joined hands to put the head coach on the back foot.
Sanju Samson's father criticises Kerala Cricket Association
While Samson prepares to face England in T20I, he is facing trouble after decidig to snub Vijay Hazare Trophy . The cricketer was not selected to play for Kerala in the recent Vijay Hazare Trophy after he skipped a three-day camp preceding the tournament.
Samson's father Samson Viswanath criticised the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) and alleged that some officials in the board are actively blocking cricketing opportunities for his son.
