Day 4 of Navratri is here. The first day of Navratri was dedicated to Maa Shailputri, while the second day was dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini. On the third day of Navratri, Maa Chandraghanta was worshipped. After worshipping the three forms of Durga mata, devotees shall pay their obeisances to Maa Kushmanda.

The goddess' name refers to – Ku meaning little, ushma meaning warmth and anda meaning cosmic egg.
It is considered that the entire universe, Brahmanda, manifested with an adorable and magical smile of Maa Kushmanda. Also, as she possesses eight hands, she is regarded as Astabhuja devi. Some believe that the God Sun is governed by Maa Kushmanda and it is she who provides energy and direction to him.
Sun worship is considered even more auspicious on this day. The goddess is associated with blessing her devotees of good wealth, health and strength.
