History presents us with innumerable examples of times when the bad seemed to be all-pervasive, when powerful conquerors looted and trapped the masses in an undignified life. And yet, from these very masses emerged a small courageous group of awakened people who led a revolution against injustice and finally turned the tables on their oppressors. But, of course, all acts of goodness do not amount to a revolution, for they do not always aim to blow strong winds of change. Nevertheless, they work like a cool breeze in a hot desert or a drizzle on parched land. All of us have had an experience where we had lost all hope in everything and everyone around us. Our faith had worn thin, and we thought there was nothing left in life. And then one act of kindness by someone somewhere ignited a ray of hope; it became the last straw that we clung to until the scene changed for the better. So, what we need to understand is that no goodness is really wasted. It may go unheeded at times and could be overpowered by negative forces, but it is never wasted, for sure.

The misconception that good and evil have always existed 'right from the beginning' should end. Otherwise, evil will continue to exist 'till the end'. Moreover, we need to understand the exact meaning of 'beginning' and 'end' in the eternal cycle of this world drama, which clearly explains that the end of evil by self-destruction brings the 'beginning' of another era of the cycle of goodness in a repetitive way, just like day and night. Hence, all those stories about the clash of good and evil that we have been hearing since childhood are symbolic. They actually refer to the period of confluence between the Iron Age and the Golden Age when the Supreme Power guides humans to realise and regain their original goodness.

As we realise our true spiritual nature, we become aware of our pure virtuous self, thereby being soul-conscious and treating others as souls. The more we become aware of our core values, like peace, love and bliss, the more we are able to overcome evil. Stabilising our awareness on our pure self and the Supreme automatically dispels the darkness of spiritual ignorance and vices within us and liberates us from sins and sufferings. Thus, there is actually no confrontation of good and evil. It is just a reawakening of goodness that already exists within each one of us.
